Felt Estate: A Hidden Gem of West Michigan History

Brighten your holidays season with a visit to the Felt Estate.  With over 25 themed trees and 5,000 lights, the mansion is decked out from top to bottom with 1920’s glam and glitter.  This year’s theme is The Midwest Riviera:  Life Along the Lake.  Step back in time and hear how our beautiful shoreline shaped our economy then and now, and see our one-of-a-kind beach-themed tree in the mansion foyer (complete with “beach” tree skirt).  For a complete list of holiday events, go to https://www.feltmansion.org/events-at-felt-estate/

Your wedding is a day you’ll never forget. Make sure it takes place at the location of your dreams. Felt’s stone balconies, beautifully decorated rooms, and carefully manicured grounds give the mansion an unmistakable old world charm. From intimate dining rooms to elegant ballrooms, large outdoor tents, or anything in-between, Felt Mansion is here to make your big day a cherished piece of history.

Originally built in 1925 and completed in 1928, the Felt Mansion was built by the self-made millionaire, Dorr Felt for his wife Agnes. Felt was drawn to the pristine beauty of West Michigan’s coastline and decided to build the mansion on several hundred acres of land. You will take a step back in time as you navigate through our most popular features, including the Felt Mansion itself, the Carriage House, the historic Chapel, our expansive grounds, and the Shore Acres Farm buildings.
