Sustainability Goals

At the Felt Estate, we believe that being responsible stewards of the natural and built environments is not only the right thing to do - but also the best thing for the community economically, socially and aesthetically. By improving our sustainability, achieving LEED -EB certification, and creating a Net Zero Carbon Footprint Facility, we contribute positively to our area-bringing visitors, business and dollars into the local economy, while maintaining the beauty, diversity, and serenity of lakeshore.

By improving the quality of life through arts, history, culture and preservation, we increase property values for those living in the community, and create a better place to live, work, play, and dream.

Our hope is that the Felt Estate Restoration project serves as a benchmark for other community preservation project, combining environmental responsibility and historic preservation.

The greenest building is the one already built.

Social Sustainability

Along with economic and environmental responsibility, we also believe that we share a social responsibility. The Great Law of the Iroquois states, "In every deliberation, we must consider the impact on the seventh generation." At the Felt Estate, our decisions are based upon the premise that what we now for ourselves and our own community, we also do for generations to come. By preserving the past, we enrich the present, and prepare for a future rich in resources.
