A Photo Tour of the Dorr E. Felt Estate (continued)
The Grounds and Outbuildings
View of the cement pond complete with a concrete walkway over the water
-- Now overgrown, plans show that D. E. Felt planted many exotic trees and plants in this garden area.
The pond is very large, perhaps 75 feet in diameter....
...surrounded by an ornamental concrete block wall.
View of the mansion from the pond
The fire escape on the south end of the structure was added when it was a seminary
Built into the hillside in front of the mansion is a cobble-stone grotto.
The Seminary built this grotto as a shrine to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
The well for the estate, found east of the pond.
A stone staricase leads from the grotto to the front of the mansion.
The "Carriage House", once a five stall garage with caretaker's apartment above.
A red barn, nearby the Carriage House, may have been a schoolhouse at one time.
